Shipping and Returns

Shipping

Order Processing

We process and ship orders within 1–3 business days of confirmation, excluding weekends and public holidays. Timeframes are estimates and may be affected by factors outside our control including carrier delays, high volumes, or supply disruptions.

Shipping Costs

Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on your location, package size, and weight. Original shipping fees are non-refundable except where a return results from our error or a confirmed manufacturing defect.

Order Tracking

Once your order ships, you will receive a tracking number by email. Use it to follow your shipment directly on the carrier’s tracking system.

Estimated Delivery

Delivery times depend on your location and the shipping method chosen. All delivery timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed. For international orders, delivery may vary due to customs processes and local postal services.

Customs & Duties

For international orders, the recipient is responsible for all customs duties, taxes, and any additional fees imposed by the destination country. How Rare has no control over customs processes and is not liable for any delays, additional costs, or seizure of goods by customs authorities.

Incorrect Addresses

Please double-check your shipping address at checkout, including unit numbers, buzzer codes, and gate codes. We are not responsible for delays or non-delivery caused by incorrect address information. If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address, reshipment costs are at your expense.

Lost Packages

If your package appears lost, contact us at info@howrare.ca within 14 days of your estimated delivery date with your order number and tracking details. We will liaise with the carrier on a best-efforts basis. Claims submitted after 14 days will not be considered. How Rare is not liable for packages lost by a carrier.

Restricted Items

Certain items may be subject to shipping restrictions. If an item cannot be shipped to your location, we will notify you, cancel the affected item, and issue a full refund for that item.

Returns

We accept returns within 10 days of delivery. To qualify, items must be unused and in their original packaging with all tags and accessories intact. To start a return, email us at info@howrare.ca with your order number. Items sent back without prior written authorization will not be accepted and will be returned to you at your expense.

Return shipping is at your cost. If your item arrived damaged or defective, we will cover return shipping and resolve the issue at our discretion by offering a replacement or refund.

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will process your refund to your original payment method within 10 business days. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.

Sale items are final sale.

Non-Eligible Items

The following items cannot be returned under any circumstances: items marked as final sale; items purchased using a promotional or discount code; items not in their original unused condition or packaging; fabric and textile items including but not limited to cushion covers and any other cloth-based products; and gift cards.

Exchanges

Exchanges are available for damaged or defective items only. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery at info@howrare.ca with photos and a description of the issue. The item must be returned in its original packaging. How Rare reserves the right to issue a refund in lieu of an exchange.

Order Cancellation

Before Shipping

Contact us immediately at info@howrare.ca. Orders are processed quickly and we cannot guarantee cancellation before dispatch. If your order has already been packaged or shipped, cancellation is not possible.

After Shipping

Once shipped, orders cannot be cancelled. If you no longer wish to receive the order, allow delivery and submit a return request subject to our return conditions above.

Cancellation by How Rare

How Rare reserves the right to cancel any order at its sole discretion for any reason, including pricing errors, product unavailability, or suspected fraud. In such cases, a full refund will be issued for the cancelled order.

Damaged or Defective Items

Inspect your order upon receipt. If you notice any damage or defect, contact us within 48 hours of delivery at info@howrare.ca with photos and a brief description. How Rare will assess the claim and resolve it at our discretion by offering a replacement or refund. Claims submitted after 48 hours of delivery will not be considered.

Stolen Packages

We are not responsible for packages that are confirmed as delivered by the carrier but subsequently reported as stolen. We recommend collecting your shipment promptly upon delivery.

Refunds

Approved refunds are processed to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval. Original shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return results from our error or a confirmed defect. If you have not received your refund within 15 business days of approval, contact us at info@howrare.ca before initiating any chargeback or payment dispute.

General

This policy is governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada and must be read together with our Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service prevail. How Rare reserves the right to update this policy at any time without prior notice.
